Brief Synopsis:
Can one yellow bike change the world? Of course
not. But a fleet of yellow bikes can maybe get things rolling. Tales of a Yellow
Bike travels the world looking for a chain reaction in the realm of pedal
politics and sustainable transportation. The internationally recognized Bike
Share Program in Toronto is at a crossroads, struggling to maintain its funding
in an environment dominated by the automobile. As the Yellow Bike Share
Program Manager, Maogosha rides through the world’s great urban communities
trying to understand what community bicycle sharing models work and how they can
be implemented for the transportation challenges faced in North America.
Filmography:Tina Hahn is the founder of Symmetree media, a unique
producer of programming that incorporates creativity, health and the environment
with a multi-cultural perspective. Tina has directed and produced programming
for Book Television, Bravo!, Canadian Learning Television, CTV, Discovery Health
Channel Canada, Documentary Channel Canada, Knowledge Network, SCN and
TVOntario. Her works include “Life's a Twitch” (2001), “How Come You Walk
Funny?” (2002-03).
Tina plans to builds upon the environmental themes of
“Tales of a Yellow Bike” with “Green City Challenge.” “Green City Challenge” was
recently announced the winner of the NFB Convergence Lab pitching contest at Hot
Docs. The series is in development with ARTE France and CBC Television.
