　　Brief Synopsis: Jhuma e Niladri are a couple from Burdwan, a city a hundred kilometres from Kolkata in the state of West Bengal. They have been married for 8 years and have no children. This is a major problem, especially in India where a childless married woman is considered impure. A few years ago, Niladri would probably have abandoned Jhuma, and her life would have become a misery, her presence taken to be an inauspicious sign at social events or religious ceremonies. Today, cutting-edge research and the boom in the assisted reproduction industry offer them new possibilities, new hopes, new dilemmas. The couple set off for Hyderabad, the heart of Indian medical and assisted reproduction research, on a journey of hope, a journey that will take them to Dr Rama’s fertility clinic. Dr Rama is the owner of a number of clinics in southern India and is expanding her business into the Gulf States and the Caribbean. At the Hyderabad clinic, Jhuma comes into contact with doctors, embryologists, other infertile women and surrogate mothers. The results of the tests she undergoes there will make her and her husband face some crucial decisions. The journey and their stay in Hyderabad will change them forever.

　　Filmography: Raffaele Brunetti has been a documentary-ﬁlm director and producer since 1987. His ﬁlm Hair India was selected for the ofﬁcial competition of IDFA (2008), Festival dei Popoli (2008), Full Frame Film Festival (2009), Hot Docs (2009), as well as for other major ﬁlm festivals and won the Ondas Award as best International Programme (2009) and the Jury Award at GZ DOC (2009). He has recently directed the documentary The Other Revolution, Gorky and Lenin on Capri, in association with YLE, MDR, SVT, RSI.

　　He is a member of the board of Doc/it (Organization of Italian Documentary Makers) and of the EDN Executive Committee. He was director of the "Italian Doc Screenings”, Italian documentary showcase, from 2005 to 2010.
