Brief Synopsis: It's a story about fate and love. In 2009, a piece of video clip from a orphanage not only changed the life of a 6-year-old Chinese boy, but also a family from US. Mikey Lucas (formal Chinese named Guanpu) was abandoned because of his born with bilateral tibial hemimelia. He has been posted on the waiting child program for over a year without any respond, until his video was watched by Mark and Janell, a couple with multi-adoption experience. As a turning point in his life, Mikey starts his brand new life and obtains many unexpected chance. From matching to integration, MATCH and MIX follows Mikey’s entire journey adoption, taking an intimate look at the vivid and heartbreaking world of the trans-racial and trans-cultural adoption.
Filmography: Cherry is Chinese-American independent filmmaker. She was born and bred in Guangzhou, China. She used to work in Guangzhou Television for 13 years as a producer and Director. In 2004, Silent Dancer marked her first independent debut. This film has been awarded multi-prizes in China. In 2007, she found EYE FOR EYE PRODUCTION in US, an independent company specializing making programs between China and US. Match and Mix is one of the non-fiction project starting at 2008, it was funded by DDF 2009 of ITVS.
