内容简介：本片将希腊神话中的奥德赛的生平及著名战役与现代一位奥运会自行车运动员如角斗士般的比赛结合。国际冠军克雷格•麦克林将以时速60公里的速度冲刺四百公里的赛程。影片以新颖的手法展现了这位自行车手在备战世界杯时的兴奋，恐惧，决心与喜悦。

导演简历：艾德里安和芬利2007年受委托一起制作另类体育运动记录片系列，从那时候两个人开始合作。《Standing Start》就是他们合作的作品，接下去合作的影片是《Ma Bar》。芬利从2005年开始为苏格兰纪录片协会工作。他是《蝴蝶》和《牙齿的真相》的制片经理，两部影片都在2006和2007年苏格兰BAFTA获得提名。
艾德里安2001年硕士毕业后，他拍摄的短片都非常成功。2007年，他为苏格兰BBC拍摄了试验短片《我自己更甚》。目前他也在准备拍摄一部长片《娜娜传奇》，以及名为《SMG部门》的警察系列片。

Brief Synopsis：The life and battles of Odysseus are paired with the gladiator-like race day preparations of an Olympic cyclist. Powering his bike at speeds of over 40mph, over a distance of 250m from a standing start, this film tracks world champion Craig MacLean’s adrenaline, fear, determination and exhilaration as he prepares for the world cup.

Filmography：Adrian and Finlay started working together in 2007 when they were commissioned to make a series of alternative sports documentaries. Standing Start was a result of this collaboration and Ma Bar has since followed. Finlay has been working for the Scottish Documentary Institute since 2005. He was production Manager on ‘Butterfly’ and ‘The Truth About Tooth’ both of which were nominated for a Scottish BAFTA in 2006 & 2007 respectively.
Adrian has enjoyed great success with his shorts since graduating with his Masters in 2001. In 2007 Adrian directed “Myself Only More So” - a short film pilot for BBC Scotland. He also has a feature film in development ; The Nana Saga and is currently creating a cop series entitled The Department for SMG
